Our mission is to help locally-owned Edmonton businesses recover from COVID-19
Seeing how the pandemic was impacting local business owners really hit home. Being small business owners ourselves, we know the direct impact this lockdown has on our cash flow and the pressure to keep all of our staff team on payroll.
Just like us, our employees rely on their paycheques to do normal things like buying groceries and paying bills.
When people have less money, the amount of money they circulate in our communities also goes down. That impact on local businesses has a much larger ripple effect throughout our community and eventually, it affects us all.
GotLocal was born out of a deep desire to do something to help local businesses recover from the economic devastation being caused by COVID-19.
It is a public platform to help highlight and humanize the businesses owned by people in the communities we live in.
We encourage business owners and community members alike to add the local businesses they love to support. Together we can spend more of our dollars with people who live in our communities rather than the big-box chain stores we see all across the country.
